Introducing Fayetteville Chiropractor, Dr. David Fonke

The Preferred Fayetteville Chiropractor

I graduated from East Carolina University in 1977 with a BS in Ed. After working in the commercial fitness field for 10 years my brother Jerry and I started care with Dr. Jeff Baldwin. We were impressed with the results we received from our adjustments. I felt the adjustments improving the function of my body. There was a natural progression for me. My interest in improving physical performance now included chiropractic adjustments. I began to see myself as capable of learning and practicing as a Doctor of Chiropractic.

I chose Life College because Dr. Jeff Baldwin, my brothers, Jerry and Dan, my sister in-law, Victoria (Dan’s wife) graduated from there. At that time Life was the largest chiropractic college in the world. I was surprised at the pace of the education. I took 25 credit hours each term and quickly learned to team up with fellow students in study groups. I was in class year round, beginning in January of 1995 and graduating in December of 1998.

My goal with practice members is to improve their quality of life. This means expanding their view of health beyond the range of symptoms they feel. Experiencing and identifying improvement in the functions of their body takes time and attention.

Optimal health is a dynamic, life long process. Choices are made as goals are reached or changed. Wellness is a concept of optimal function physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Achieving the dynamic balance in these three areas is the challenge and reward of chiropractic. The most rewarding aspect of chiropractic care is to see the sparkle in the person’s eyes and to hear the enthusiasm return to their voice. They gain confidence in their body’s innate ability to heal and regulate. This ability to heal and regulate is maximized through regular chiropractic adjustments.

I am the first born in a family of eight, 5 boys and 3 girls. My family members are my best friends. My Dad is 86 and my Mom is 82. Both have received chiropractic care for over 15 years. I have 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls and one granddaughter. My favorite times are celebrations with my children, siblings and parents. We celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, special days and occasions or just get together to enjoy each other’s company. I particularly enjoy time with my daughter Allison. She is the equestrian coordinator for Camp Pee Dee. She teaches students and trains horses in her capacity at the camp. She is teaching me to ride like her. More importantly she is teaching me about creating a relationship with her amazing horses. I am learning to read their behaviors and understand their thought processes. That transfers to being a better leader through respect and love. I attend the Cedar Creek Church of God. Worship is held on Thursday evening and Sunday morning. Spiritual growth has impacted every facet of my life.

My brother Jerry and I adjust each other at least once each week. My workouts consist of strength training 3 consecutive days with a day off. I walk each morning for 45-60 minutes. I supplement my diet with whole food supplements while maintaining a low carbohydrate intake. I avoid white bread, white rice, white pasta and white potatoes. I will eat small portions of these foods once or twice each week. I do not receive any vaccinations. I do not take any prescription or over the counter medications.

Enough about me. I hope this has given you some insight into my thought processes. I look forward to working with you to achieve your health goals through chiropractic care. Give our office a call today.</P>
